March 3, 1913 in Washington,
DC five thousandth suffragettes march with the requirement to give women
the right to vote. Women’s rights movement was gaining momentum. In the
end, President Woodrow Wilson persuaded Congress to pass a piece of
legislation, the ratification in 1920 became the Nineteenth Amendment to
the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits discrimination in the election
by gender.
